How do I go about taking up refereeing?
The first stage involved in becoming a referee is to register with your local County Football Association
and the second stage is to attend a basic Referees Course

THE FA ALSO RUN A PROGRAMME AIMED AT
GETTING YOUNG CHILDREN INVOLVED IN REFEREEING

This is a programme aimed at 9-14 year olds and looks to provide them with a basic overview of the principles of refereeing.
The minimum age to take the Basic Course in Refereeing and become an FA qualified referee is 14, so this programme caters for the younger age group, and serves as an introduction of officiating football, and as a taster of the full course

I've read about referees "using their LOAF"
What does this mean?
There are 17 Laws in football
These can all be found in the LOAF (Laws Of Association Football)
So whatever the level of a game, a referee always "uses his/her LOAF"
